Some of the tiny dwellings. They are about 5 feet tall,
and you have to wriggle through a tiny hole to get in.
Three tiny islets 1000 feet below Orongo.
The largest is Motu Nui, and it is where the birdmen hopefuls had
to swim to retreive a tern egg. It is two miles out to sea.
At the very end of Orongo, you run out of flat land,
and must either turn around, jump into the sea,
or try to navigate down to the crater lake!
I have maintained this web site since 1995.
I write and create photos because I enjoy it.
People tell me they enjoy reading this site, so I keep it going.
However...
This site has cost me a lot of hours, and a lot of money.
And, unlike my writing for magazines or books, there is no
publisher sending me checks for the work I do on this site.
