James' experience in concert
production includes international
tours with Pigface, Ministry, Royal Crown Revue, and Gary Sinise (Lt.
Dan Band).
James also engineered nearly 700
shows at Chicago's Park West Theater, including fashion shows, sporting
events, private parties, awards ceremonies, film screenings, comedy
performances, lectures, and hundreds of music concerts (including Nick
Cave, Laurie Anderson, King Crimson, David Byrne, Jimmy Smith, Glenn
Philips, Paula Poundstone, Chicago Cabaret Convention [45 acts in three
days], John Mayall, Chuck Berry, Warren Zevon, Gas Giants, Aimee Mann,
Alice Peacock, Millie's Orchid Show, Royal Crown Revue, Hot Tuna, Bea
Arthur [40 shows], Intergalactic, Prince, Nikka Costa, Michelle Branch,
Glen Tilbrook, and countless others.
Work for various Chicago area concert venues and independent sound
reinforcement companies has brought his lifetime gig total to nearly
two thousand live events. James has mixed sound in nearly every
hotel ballroom, downtown skyscraper, suburban country club, and street
festival in the Chicago area.
At this time, James is taking a break from live sound work, in
order to
focus on studio music production, writing, and teaching.
